Do you cater outside of the southern New Hampshire area?


Yes, we will travel for your event. (There may be a mileage charge if you're far out, FYI.) We normally serve a radius of approx. 50 miles from Dover, New Hampshire, including the Lakes Region and York County, Maine.




What size groups do you cater?


We prefer smaller events, such as in-home personal chef services and celebrations. We can accomodate outdoor gatherings, up to 50 according to the NH State health guidelines. As a private chef, I can prepare and serve an intimate dinner for two at your home or bring in the crew for an off-site BBQ for 100 - it's your call. We've even supported an independent music festival as their on-site kitchen.




What kind of menus can you prepare?


We easily cater (pun intended) to nutritional guidelines for those who have food sensitivities or dietary guidelines such as:

  1. Vegetarian
  2. Vegan
  3. Gluten-Free
  4. Lactose Intolerance
  5. Low/No Sugar
  6. Paleo and more
  7. Athletic Peak Performance
  8. Doctor Supervised Weight Gain/Loss




Do you offer more than just food for events?


Yes, we can coordinate and plan the entire event, using your theme, from the menu and rentals to entertainment and staffing, including:

  • servers
  • bartenders
  • host or master of ceremonies
  • musicians of every genre
  • valet drivers and more




Can you cook on site? Do you cater outdoor functions?


Yes, we cook on-site for dinner parties, cooking classes and larger events requiring hot food and grilled items. We have the ability to feed a large amount of people at once, and an even larger amount over a larger service time. We can cater outside for BBQs, Clambakes and events in a natural setting with limited facilities.




Can you provide wedding invitations and printed accessories?


We can point you in the right direction with some well-vetted, professional designers that can provide:

  • invitations and place cards
  • banners and posters
  • custom printed cups
  • novelties and party favors
  • custom signature boards for events




Are you fully insured?


Yes, we carry a Certificate of Insurance available upon request. Additionally, our kitchen is licensed by the New Hampshire Board of Health and Chef Randy is ServSafe Certified.




Will the proposal include all estimated costs?


Yes, our proposal includes estimated costs for food, staff, equipment rentals, linens, delivery fees (if applicable), bar set up, and New Hampshire Prepared Meal Tax. Our estimate is based on a thorough consultation and tasting menu. There are no charges for our white china and flatware.




Do you require a deposit for our event?


Yes, a 50% deposit is appreciated at the time of a signed contract.




What is your cancellation policy?


Cancellations must be received via phone message or e-mail no less than 14 days prior to the scheduled event. Half of the deposit will be returned if the event is cancelled within that time window. The deposit received will not be refunded if the event is cancelled less than the time allowed.




Do you offer meal planning and drop off?


Yes, we encourage people, who need to follow nutritional menus, are recovering from health issues or are just bored with cooking for themselves, to try our restaurant-quality food delivery services. We have regular clients within a 25-mile radius of Strafford, NH, so ask if we can add you to our delivery routes, even if you want delivery to your work place! During the scheduled event, Chef Randy Brisson, and Dining by Design LLC, is not responsible for any adverse effects due to food allergies or health issues of any guest that were not addressed during our client consultation.
